Octopus JSC and partners have successfully completed the pilot project in India.

On the 12-th of December, 2019 in the city of Rajahmundry an important meeting was hold. At the asset of the biggest Indian gas and oil corporation ONGC M/s Octomaks Technologies (JV with participation of Octopus JSC), Octopus JSC specialists and representatives of partner companies successfully defended the report on the pilot project for proper reservoir characterisation and identification of sweet spots of Malleswaram and Mandapeta fields of Rajahmundry asset (ONGC division), India. During execution of the project miscroseismic survey methods (LFS, FWL) and specialized seismic data processing (CSPD) were used for the first time in India. The deliverables submitted to the Customer stated gas and oil well locations at the high hydrocarbon potential zones in Malleswaram and Mandapeta fields. The first two wells (one well in each field) are planned to be drilled in the coming months. Summing up the results of the meeting, Dmitry Ponomarenko, Director General of Octopus JSC, underlined the complexity of geological structure in the Malleswaram and Mandapeta fields and "its relative weak study". "In order to work out an adequate plan for the fields development it is required to generate and to refine subsequently geological and hydrodynamical models, to create base of data obtained by both conventional methods (drilling, testing data) and advanced methods, including microseismic methods", - concluded Dmitry Ponomarenko. Appala Bhupathi Raju, CEO of M/s Octomaks Technologies, said that microseismic surveys and specialized seismic data re-processing method were used together for the first time in India. "Drilling of wells at the proposed locations is planned in the nearest time. We thank the management team of the ONGC Asset in Rajahmundry for the granted opportunity to execute pilot projects. We hope to continue our cooperation. Russian technologies in oil and gas production field are highly competitive and can be successfully used in India", - said Mr. Appala Bhupathi Raju.
